Exercise Concerns
After repair of vascular ring, the patient should be examined for the persistence of respiratory problems. In most cases, there will be no restrictions to exercise and no increased susceptibility to the development of arrhythmias or sudden death.
If there is residual airway compression, however, some exercise restrictions may apply, as indicated by the patient's cardiologist.
Anyone with congenital heart disease, repaired or non-repaired, should consult with their cardiologist about physical activity to review the risks. |
